Dressing your Halloween
Bloompetals. Create your own pumpkin cutting it with a knife. -->Read carving instructions.
SymFace. It lets you see how your face would look if it was perfectly symmetrical. You will need a picture of your face (better), or just use one provided for this software. Very funny!.
SymmeToy. You can download it (it's free). It is a program to create paint patterns, symmetry roses, tessellated art and symmetrically decorated 3D polyhedron models.
You have been given one Halloween character to complete the missing part. You can not trace or fold it, nor measure more than 15 or 20 points (by using the drafting compass or a ruler) in order to get the mirror image by symmetry.
Let's see if you love this video. You can practice next summer on the beach, but, if you cannot wait for that, use a table and flour, although I'm afraid it will not be the same.
If you want more information about this Israeli artist, Ilana Yahav, take a look to her work, you can visit her website here.

Now, it´s your turn.
Be a sand artist
I know that it is not the same, but there is an online software to create your own sand picture. Its name is thisissand. Use the mouse to start and the sand begins to fall. To change the colour use the letter "C" in your keyboard, to erase what you have done use the letter "E", and with the arrows you will use the different colours you have selected before. Try, its funny!
This is a task I like doing when we begin a new course. It let me meet you, know your names and, by the way, we work with a "popurrí" of items which we are going to work with along the next nine months.
I realize you don't understand very well what your are doing now. Don't worry. We will hang them on our walls and we will have good references for the different topics we are going to deal with such as technical drawing (parallelism, perpendicularity, Thales Theorem), image, colours, textures, visual elements, design process, sketches, typography...
You will see your drawings published in this blog very soon....
